From late summer I am going to be putting a percentage of my time towards starting up an Open Cloud steering / discussion group in EMEA open to technologists and architects from across technology fields. It would be your chance as an individual to meet regularly and to communicate online with like minds but also to sanity check your own plans around Cloud and to hear the experiences of others.
More than likely meeting up in the offices of Red Hat in Farnborough or Baker Street London initially but able to utilise our EMEA footprint across territories this is an opportunity to achieve a lot more than you’d manage in touring Cloud conferences as well as beginning new relationships and being able to determine your own strategies around Cloud.
I am going to try and rope in regular travelling Red Hat alumni to talk to you about what we are doing in emerging IaaS and PaaS fields as well as looking at how you’re able to harness the power of your own legacy platforms to achieve common goals and aims.
The program, still without a name (am concentrating on the functional rather than the fluff) will aim to launch quietly during late July and early August and have an open registration where people wanting to achieve strength in depth in everything Cloud can sign up to take part.
It’s not a talking shop or an excuse to talk product, I’m aiming for a regular meeting of Cloudaholics Anonymous from all levels of the decision making process. The end results of which are only as good as the contributions each of the members donates.
If you’re interested at being formulaic and cerebral and want to help organise this with me drop me an email at the usual address. Do share this post if you think there are others who would really benefit from this and who you feel should be aware.
